Award-winning start to Icelandic Fisheries show
A happy opening day for Marel at this year’s Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition, where the company was presented with the award as Overall Outstanding Supplier.
First introduced in 1999, the coveted awards are presented by the show's organisers to those companies and individuals judged to have made an outstanding contribution to the Icelandic and international fishing industry.
“This is a great honour for Marel in general and our Industry Centre Fish in particular," said Marel managing director Sigsteinn Grétarsson (left) after accepting the award.
"I would like to thank everyone who has worked so hard to make this possible. Above all I'd like to thank our customers for the trust they have shown us over the years and hope they continue to do so in the future.”
Staged at the Fífan events centre, Kópavogur, from September 22-24, the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition is a tri-annual event first established in 1984.
A key attraction in the North Atlantic and global fisheries calendar, this year’s show involves exhibitors from 500 companies from 34 countries, with around 13,000 visitors expected to attend.
