The main benefit of the Marel flowline concept compared to a pan-based system is that fillets flow directly from filleting through trimming without being stacked or placed in intermediate storage. The raw material is weighed, graded, cut and packed in a continuous flow, which increases capacity by 50-80% per man hour.

The main benefit of the Marel flowline concept compared to a pan based system is that fillets flow directly from filleting through trimming without being stacked or put into intermediate storage. The raw material is weighed, graded, cut and packed in a continuous flow, which increases capacity by 50-80% per man hour.  System  Fish Trimming FlowlineThe whitefish trimming line has individual operator stations for trimming fillets. Each station has a worktable and bins for products and trimmings. Each operator is individually monitored allowing the implementation of personal achievement systems. The trimming line is controlled by the MPS Trimming module. Raw material is weighed, graded, cut and packed in a continuous flow, which increases capacity by 50-80% per man hour. Marel's trimming line for whitefish plays a key role in the company's flowline concept. The line is also suitable for other species, for example catfish, or where the product needs to be lit up on an illuminated workbench for inspection.  Individual monitoring  Marel's Window's based MPS software collects data and monitors the entire production process, including individual and overall throughput, yield, capacity and quality. This allows production managers to take immediate action when problems occur.  Trimming stations  At trimming stations individual worker statistics are collected - worker name, speed, quality, utilization, product types, working time, etc. - and products weighed as they exit. Random quality-control sampling monitors defects, and stations with a higher occurrence of problems have their sampling frequency increased. And as the flowline system operates as a continuous flow, the chance of bacterial contamination is greatly reduced.  In addition to providing in-depth, real-time performance supervision, all registrations are stored in the powerful database, which can be retrieved in report form according to managerial need. The Marel whitefish trimming line has individual operator stations for trimming fillets.
