Marel Food Systems' acquisition of Stork Food Systems completed
The acquisition of Stork Food Systems by Marel Food Systems hf. takes effect as of today, 8 May 2008.
The agreement on the acquisition was announced on 28 November 2007 with the following provisions:
- that the takeover bid by London Acquisition N.V. for all shares in Stork N.V. would be unconditional;
- that the Stork Works Council would deliver a positive opinion on the acquisition; and
- that European competition authorities would approve the deal.
The takeover bid by London Acquisition N.V. for the purchase of all shares in Stork N.V. was declared without conditions on 17 January 2008. The purchase received a positive response from the Stork Works Council. With the consent of the competition authorities on 21 April 2008, all provisions in the purchase contract were satisfied.
