BEZRK-Belgrankorm orders high-speed greenfield project

Chairman and principal owner of BEZRK-Belgrankorm in the Russian Federation, Alexander Orlov, has signed a memorandum with the CEO of Marel, Theo Hoen, for the delivery of a 12,000 bph greenfield plant, to be built in the Rakityanskij area of the Belgorod region. The project includes the first Multiphase Controlled Atmosphere Stunning system in the Russian Federation, as well as electro stimulation, maturation chilling tunnel, two cut up lines and complete logistics solution and control system. The order includes equipment from Marel’s Stork Poultry Processing range of products to the amount of 18.3 million euros.

Alexander Orlov: “We have been partners for more than five years now. The high quality of Stork Poultry Processing equipment and service speaks for itself. The machines are very reliable, and the focus on innovation gives us great confidence for the future. It is very positive that Marel and Stork Poultry Processing are now one company with one concept, a concept that can offer solutions to all the challenges we face in our daily work. I see a similarity between Marel/Stork Poultry Processing and our company. We both are devoted to making the best products in the poultry business. We are both very open companies that have nothing to hide from our customers.”

BEZRK-Belgrankorm’s Press Secretary, Vladimir Saenko, yesterday told Kommersant, Russia’s online daily, of the company’s intention to begin exporting poultry products to Europe. The company is therefore planning to build the new slaughtering plant, with an initial processing capacity of 12 thousand poultry birds per hour. The potential production volume, according to Mr. Saenko, will exceed 150 thousand tons of poultry meat per year. BEZRK-Belgrankorm’s investment in the project amounts to more than 1 billion rubles. The company plans to begin construction at the end of the year and to begin operations in the summer of 2011. Mr. Saenko noted that the equipment for the plant, amounting to 18.3 million euros, will be supplied by Marel and that Mr. Orlov had signed a memorandum with Mr. Hoen on Friday, 5 November.

Agroholding BEZRK-Belgrankorm was established in 1998, initially as a feed mill factory.
