The annual Seafood Processing/European Seafood Exhibition has once again opened its doors to the public and there are no signs of recession in the size of the crowds and the level of activity.

We are receiving extremely positive reactions to the machines and systems on display at our stand. It is clear that many processors recognise that when times are tough, it is important to invest in increased automation and efficiency.

The first show day began with the unveiling of the I-Cut 10, the newest member in Marel’s I-Cut family of portion cutters. This compact machine is designed to optimise fixed-weight production and its competitive price, combined with the savings in labour costs, virtually guarantees a rapid payback.

With six new products on display at the stand, our crew is kept really busy at all times.

There is a lot of action in the salmon section of the stand, with live demonstrations running throughout the day. Attracting particular attention is the Geba SC250, the fastest slicer on the market for fresh, smoked salmon. Salmon processors have also shown a lot of interest in the Carnitech Vacuum Pinboner.

In the whitefish section, the live demonstrations of our new “cut and batch“ concept, with robot batching of fresh fish loins, has sparked a lot of interest.

Judging from the busy first few hours of the show’s second day, we expect yet another successful show day.
