The Project Management Institute (PMI) of Uruguay has presented Marel Food Systems Uruguay with the PMI Project of the Year award for 2008.
The award was given in recognition for a project developed for the National Meat Institute of Uruguay. The turnkey system assembled for the project, which began in 2004, collects information on – and provides traceability for – the entire beef production industry in Uruguay. The data, from close to 40 slaughterhouses across the country, is gathered in a central server at the National Meat Institute.

The software used to monitor the performance of the system on a continuous basis helped to achieve an impressive “uptime” rate of 99.56% for the year.
