Carnitech US Marel Food Systems, formally opened its new office and factory building in Seattle on November 14th. Directed by Henrik Rassmussen, the Carnitech operation on the US west coast will focus on servicing the fish industry as well as current and potential customers in the surrounding areas.
Sigurjón Elíasson the Regional Manager for the Americas and Kristján Ármannsson the Sales Manager for fish industry in North America, both from Marel ehf. in Iceland, were among those who attended the opening ceremony. During the event Sigurjón Elíasson proudly presented Henrik Rassmussen, with a gift from Marel, a commemorative bell for the new office.
Carnitech US recently purchased Seattle based Gunnar Electronics, one of the main players in the marine and flow scales market, and the two operations have now merged in one location. A long standing partner of Marel, Gunnar Electronics had been instrumental in building up a strong relationship with the fish industry in the area.
The new office will sell and service equipment and solutions from Marel ehf, Scanvaegt, AEW Delford and Carnitech. The solutions on offer are suitable for all types of processing, from small to large processing plants. A variety of fish processing systems will also be manufactured at the new facilities and sold for both onboard and land based processing such as processing lines, conveyor systems, tube tippers and other applications.
