Sigsteinn Grétarsson, Managing Director of Marel ehf.

Marel Food Systems announces an organizational change as part of its ongoing strategy to be a leading competitive force in designing, manufacturing and servicing food processing equipment worldwide: Scanvaegt will become part of Marel ehf in Iceland under the leadership of Marel’s current managing director, Sigsteinn Grétarsson. The new joint-management structure will be led by the following persons under Sigsteinn’s management:

• Halldór Magnúson – Service
• Pétur Guðjónsson – Sales
• Snorri Þorkelsson – Finance
• Þórður Theodórsson – Production
• Kristján Hallvarðsson – Product Development
• Sigurpáll Jónsson – Site Management in Aarhus

As part of these changes Erik Steffensen, managing director of Scanvaegt, will be leaving the company after 24 years of service and leadership. Also leaving the company is Henrik Thomsen, director of sales. We thank them for their support and hard work during the integration process. Henrik Ladefoged will direct all his focus to the corporate level as corporate director of service.

The new organization structure is highly based on Product Groups and Industries. This will enhance and sharpen focus to better enable us to meet customer requirements. Our purpose, as always, is to create value for our customers by delivering and servicing outstanding products.
