Several large projects awarded in 2009 and 2010 show that Marel has the right approach. It offers the customised solutions and innovations that Chinese processors want. This year, the year of the Tiger, we are improving the service offered to Chinese processors still further by expanding its local sales, service and spare parts operation.
Marel is also taking part in several important activities in the Chinese food processing market. On May 13-15 2010 Janjaap van der Mark (Sales Director Marel Stork Food Systems Beijing) participated in the Global Broiler Industry Forum, followed by the Second China Broiler Industry Conference in Beijing. Several topics were discussed here including food safety, the impact of the broiler industry on the environment, developments in the worldwide broiler market and the latest technical innovations.
More recently, Marel showed examples of its latest innovative machines and systems at CIMIE (China International Meat Industry Exhibition), through its Stork Poultry Processing brand. In the successful Dutch pavilion staff manning the Marel Stork Food Systems Beijing booth informed their many visitors on how they could improve the quality and efficiency of their processes and several new end product possibilities were presented.
Another big event will take place in September of this year. From September 6 to 8, more than 20.000 visitors will attend the VIV China 2010 in Beijing. It will be the largest international trade show of its kind in China. Again there will be a Dutch pavilion, a good base that enables the Chinese and local South East Asian markets (In 2008 many visitors came from: Philippines, South Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia) to explore new technological possibilities.
