Marel Food Systems has formally opened a new representative office in Qingdao, China. The new office is part of the corporate goal to increase business in Asia. Marel Food Systems also operates subsidiaries and offices in Thailand and Vietnam.
Jerry Lee, a former employee of Icelandic China plc, is Chief of the new Representative Office. Mr. Lee will establish the sales and service operation in China and promote the four company brands: AEW Delford, Carnitech, Marel and Scanvaegt.
The company's recent contract with one of China's largest fish processing companies, Pacific Andes, came after extensive work on this market and the new office will be integral to the company's growth on the Asian market.
