Marel will move to its new headquarters at Austurhraun 9, Gardabaer, on July 6th 2002.
Construction on the 14,200 -m2 manufacturing and office complex began in early April 2001 and was completed in June this year. Office and office-related facilities will total about 4,000 m2 on three floors, while space for the factory will total about 10,000 m2. The site is logistically well situated for the easy flow of materials and products to and from the company. And its central location in Greater Reykjavík is also convenient for commuting by staff and guests.
The new premises will significantly improve the production facilities, creating a better place to work with good space and an open and flowing environment. Other improvements include meeting facilities, a kids-corner, a library, creative brainstorming centres, a sports and exercise centre, as well as bicycle paths. All though many things will change in the physical environment one thing will remain and that is Marel’s positive and outgoing work culture.
The new address will be: Austurhraun 9, 220 Gardabaer. No changes will be in phone or fax numbers.
