The Minister toured the company and was introduced to some of the applications of Marel technology in the fish industry.
Svein Ludvigsen , Norwegian Minister of Fisheries, visited Marel hf on January 30th, 2004. Along with his delegation, Mr.Ludvigsen met with Marel CEO, Dr. Hörður Arnarsson and Lárus Ásgeirsson, Marel Sales and Marketing Director. The Minister toured the company and was introduced to some of the applications of Marel technology in the fish industry.
Mr. Ludviksen was brought up to date on the pin bone removal and bone detection project which Marel and Carntiech have been working on with the Norwegian seafood federation and the difficult situation in the fishing industry in Norway. Mr. Ludvigsen‘s visit to Marel was a part of a visit to Icelandic companies that operate in or related to the fishing industry. The Minister and his delegation are studying the level of technology and solutions in the Icelandic sector and looking into the further collaboration between Icelandic and Norwegian businesses.
Marel was honored to receive a visit from Mr. Ludvigsen, which undoubtedly will strengthen the ties between Marel and its Norwegian Customers. Marel has delivered solutions to all major sectors in the Norwegian industry, including whitefish and salmon processors for over a decade now working closely with its agent Maritech.
