For the last decade JSC TURNIF, one of the largest fishing companies in the Russian Far East, has used Marel marine scales for their operation. Today more than 25 Marel marine scales are installed on board their vessels. The company owns and operates 8 large-capacity RTMS and BATM vessels that are equipped with modern fishing and technological equipment.

Before installing Marel scales the company had used marine scales from different manufacturers. Their price was right but the quality and durability were not up to par with the company's requirements.

"Our specialists drew our attention to the reliability issue as well as the possibility of service in ports of arrival," says Mr. Aleksander I. Pokotilo, Chief of Production. "We decided to go with Marel after looking into those issues and have used the Marel Scales for over a decade in the harsh trawler environment. Unlike the scales from other manufacturers there have been no instances of malfunction. "After each trip Marel scales are placed in routine service at the Marel service workshop in Vladivostok, where scales are approved and certificate for one year is issued.

It wasn't a tough choice for the company when they decided to install more equipment. "The Marel scales are very good and we will install 11 more. Eight of them will be hopper scales for our LBH freezers," says Pokotilo. "The quality, accuracy and durability of the Marel scales clearly demonstrate the company's expertise."
