Marel introduces innovative new concepts at this year’s Seafood Processing Europe Exhibition in Brussels. For the salmon industry, Marel presents the ITM, Intelligent Trimming Machine, and the SureTrack System. Also presented are the Speed Batching system for whitefish, pelagic fish, and shellfish and a new Vision Grader along with Marine Pack 5, a simple and easy to use marine packing solution.

ITM –Intelligent Trimming Machine

Marel introduces the ITM, a new intelligent trimming machine that automatically trims salmon fillets into pre-defined shapes. The ITM uses an advanced vision system that ensures a high precision cut, making the entire process - from measuring to trimming – efficient and productive.

SureTrack System

The SureTrack system uses an innovative technique to transfer whole salmon in that ensures fast and accurate grading of raw material while keeping handling to a minimum. Comprised of a quality inspection station, infeed station and a rotating bin grading system, SureTrack provides accurate weighing that meets the strictest production requirements.

Speed Batcher

The Speed Batcher uses an intelligent patented method, which first divides the incoming flow of raw material into smaller portions and then mixes them again to create the desired package weight. This high precision method is both faster and more accurate than available before.

Marine Pack 5

Marel introduces a robust Packing and Labelling Solution for Marine Operations.  

Designed to meet requirements for catch reporting and traceability, the Marine Pack 5 packing and labelling solution from Marel is simple to install and operate. The system is scalable, and there are absolutely no restrictions on the number of devices that can be connected to it.

Vision Grader

The Vision Grader uses 3D vision technology to grade products by shape, measuring both geometry and weight of the raw material. The Shape Grader utilizes dynamic weighing and laser vision to measure product features automatically. It can grade products based on length, width, average height, weight and form features. By using the Vision Grader, processors gain increased throughput and reliability while saving on labour and equipment since the grader can replace systems that are more complex.

Other equipment at the show includes the CheckBin grader for fish, the Basic Trimming line, the new Compact Grader XL, the Precision Grader, the new IPM X400 and Marel’s Sensor X Bone Analysis System.
