To meet customer demand, Marel has designed the new OptiBatcher system that delivers accurate fixed weight batches with minimum overpack. This new system is based on the Patent Pending CheckBin technology developed by Marel that virtually eliminates over- pack.
Flexible batching
The OptiBatcher System consists of a dynamic in weighing unit with new packing and grading software, CheckBin weighing-in-the-bin system and a specialized discharge and takeaway system. The systems software has the capability of running simple, optimal, and e-pack batching algorithms.

E-pack made easier
The OptiBatcher System is perfect for e-pack applications as it offers an e-pack algorithm that dramatically lowers the over pack on fixed weight packs. The CheckBin technology constantly monitors the batch weight in the hopper scale and sends accurate information to the controlling software. By using the system's software and the CheckBin technology, the average over pack can be reduced to below 1% of pack size.
Fully automatic takeaway
The OptiBatcher has a built in buffer on each gate that makes it possible to continue batching even though the hopper scale is waiting for an empty slot on the take-away conveyor. MPS software controls a fully automatic takeaway system that delivers completed batches into the packing area.

New non-stick bins
The OptiBatcher System comes equipped with new plastic discharge bins that prevent product from sticking to the surface. The new discharge bins ensure gentle product handling and continuous product stream. The new non-stick bins have a smooth, easy to clean surface that can be pressure or steam washed.
Batches multiple types simultaneously
Designed to handle multiple batch types at the same time the OptiBatcher System can optimize the number of gates needed for each product based on certain conditions. Producing small batches is more demanding than the easily assembled large batches, but with the multiple batch design, the system can produce them simultaneously.
The OptiBatcher can divert a small batch into a big batch if needed but at the same time fulfil a certain production criteria like directing 30% of total production into small batches. The system can also indicate the batch type on packing conveyor by using lights.
