New and innovative Marel concepts exhibited at the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition
During the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition, Marel will display new and innovative concepts for the fishing industry, both at the exhibition booth and the Marel headquarters.
Among the equipment exhibited on the booth will be the new Marel Vision Grader. The unit utilizes dynamic weighing and laser vision to measure product features automatically. It grades products based on length, width, average height, weight and form features.
The Marel Vision Grader enables processors to increase throughput and reliability while saving on labour and other equipment, since it can replace systems that are more complex.
Other equipment at the exhibition includes the small and user friendly Compact Grader and the CheckBin Grader which utilizes hopper scale in every batching bin, delivering more accurate batch weight and less reject.
The Speed Batcher will also be displayed. The system is capable of creating accurate package weight with greater speed than known before, and the Marel IPM – Intelligent Portioning Machine, the most accurate portioning machine on the market today. In addition M1100 and M2200 land and marine scales and the M6000 controller with user graphical touch sensitive interface will displayed, as well as the Marel Production Software – MPS that allows processors to get complete management overview of individual equipment or the plant.
During the exhibition Marel will make arrangements for visits to its headquarters where guests are invited to see a complete Marel flowline system as well as the new Marel ITM – Intelligent Trimming System for salmon.

The Marel ITM automatically trims fish fillets into pre-defined shapes or patterns at great speed. The advanced vision system ensures a high precision cut, making the entire process - from measuring to trimming – efficient and productive. Marel ITM ensures consistent quality and up to 2% more yield than manual trimming, all at a very fast rate of 20 fillets per minute.
Marel and its subsidiaries have been onthe leading edge in fish processing innovations both on land and at sea, designing and manufacturing an ever-expanding range of equipment that includes weighing units, computer vision systems, intelligent portioning and slicing machines, smart flow lines, high-speed graders and packing and labelling systems with full traceability. Marel operates a network of subsidiaries and agents covering over 50 countries around the world.
Welcome to our stand nr. C30 at the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition.
