Marel's new Vision Grader is on display at the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition from September 7th - 10th. The new grader intelligently grades product by shape and weight. The Vision Grader uses 3D vision technology to grade products by shape, measuring both geometry and weight of the raw material.
The grader utilizes dynamic weighing and laser vision to measure product features automatically. It can grade products based on length, width, average height, weight and form features. By using the Vision Grader, processors gain increased throughput and reliability while saving on labour and equipment since the grader can replace systems that are more complex.
The Vision Grader accurately grades front, centre, and tailpieces at the rate of up to 140 pieces a minute. Grading by piece length, width, and weight as well as form are easily adjustable on the unit’s M3000 controller, making the Vision Grader one of the most user-friendly applications on the market. Far more accurate than manual grading, the Shape Grader increases raw material quality by minimising product handling and treating the material gently.
MPS Software
Marel MPS software provides the framework for the Vision Grader’s results. Real-time information on all grades is available online as the powerful MPS software collects data from the integrated weighing and vision unit and provides easily accessible reports. Product features such as weight, length, width, thickness, and shape are measured with the dynamic weighing and vision technology, and the data transferred to a database server for collection and reporting.
