Overview
Marel introduces the new Sensor X Bone Analysis System that automatically detects bones in chicken fillets. This sophisticated and efficient solution increases the level of knowledge of the production process and therefore delivers safer and more valuable product.
Collecting bone information
SensorX - Detected bone in a Chicken breastFillets containing detected bones are delivered to an inspection station that comes equipped with its own high-resolution display terminal, which highlights the bone location in colour.
Using this as a guide, the operator removes the remaining bones without damaging any flesh, and returns the fillet to the conveyor and on for further processing.
The operator enters the relevant information for database storage, along with detailed data regarding bones detected for reporting. When there are no bones detected, the sampling continues for the purpose of constantly gathering quality data for the deboning process improvement.

Features
Benefits
- Automatic bone detection and analysis
- Uses advanced X-ray vision for maximum results
- Provides real-time feedback on rate of bone-in fillets
- Offers better data, fewer bones and less rework
- Delivers higher product value with increased yield
Improved Deboning Process
This sophisticated and efficient solution increases the knowledge of the deboning process and delivers safer and more valuable product. Real-time feedback on the rate of bone-in fillets, and analysis of the nature of bone defects, provides a tool for deboning process consistency and improvement.
Better Data – Higher Quality
Random checks at a quality control station provide valuable history of quality factors resulting in higher product value. All controllers can be accessed remotely from the office or even from a Marel service facility for preventive maintenance or fault diagnostics.
X-Ray Computer Vision
X-Ray Computer VisionThe SensorX Poultry Bone Analysis System automatically identifies bones and other foreign objects in chicken meat. The SensorX scans the product for bone content using X-ray computer vision. Detected bones are highlighted on a high-resolution display terminal for easy removal.
Accurate Bone Detection
Accurate Bone DetectionThe SensorX detects bones of various types and sends a signal to a reject or a QC station which directs the fillets to different gates or workstations, based on the bone content. Compact and easy to operate, the SensorX fits into most current processing lines without major changes.
