ScanCheck RF3

Overview

The ScanCheck RF3™ is the obvious choice for check weighing many different kinds of pre-packed products, both in packing areas and in the dry earlier stages of a production line. It has a weighing range of 0–3000 g and operates with divisions down to 0.5 g. It features a highly flexible design with belt widths of 160 mm, 260 mm and 360 mm. This makes it possible to check weigh a wide range of pre-packed products with lengths of up to 450 mm and widths of up to 350 mm. All models are available with or without a metal detector.

Reject devices with one or two catch arms or T-pushers are available for pulling or pushing any rejected products gently off the line.

Metal detection

The ScanCheck RF range of check weighers comes with an integrated metal detector. This compact, end-of-line solution combines weighing with metal detection. The metal detector has a dual-frequency set-up, which enables it to deal with both fresh and frozen products.

An auto-learn function also makes it easy for operators to set up new products and to adjust to major changes in temperature, product size, etc.

A two-way communication link (RS-485) makes it possible to start and stop both the check weigher and metal detector operations via the check weigher.This reject device gently pulls packages off the line. Performance: up to 120 items/minute.

IT integration

The ScanCheck RF3™ check weigher is designed for close integration with ScanControl™, the new Scanvaegt Office PC software for report generation and remote facilities. ScanControl™ is one of the many software modules in the Scanvaegt ScanPlant™ IT/MES system, which enables users to carry out online production control from standard PCs.

Features

The logical menu layout on the large colour screen makes it easy to operate our check weighers from day one, thus reducing train­ing requirements.

Operators can access all information (throughput, weight distribution, accept/reject percentage, etc.) while the process is running.

Scanvaegt check weighers have variable belt speeds to suit each product in different production lines. They also support left-hand or right-hand flow directions to suit the individual plant layout.

Reject units
T-pusher This general reject device is useful for packages of many different types, and can be adjusted to suit the capacity of the individual processing line. Performance: up to 280 items/minute.
Drop-down conveyor This reject device is suitable for products that are very thin, fragile or difficult to push off. Performance: up to 80 items/minute.
Catch arm This reject device gently pulls packages off the line. Performance: up to 120 items/minute.

Software

The Scanvaegt e-weighing software application divides a production run into batches of maximum 60 minutes or 10,000 accepted packages, classifying all packages as "accept" or "reject".

Packages can be rejected due to

• In excess of 2.5% Tu1–Tu2
• Not weighed
• Metal contamination
