Efficient and flexible
Designed with efficiency and flexibility in mind the Marel Portio 4003 machine cuts fixed-weight portions of meat and meat-type products, including beef, pork and turkey with high precision. Efficient and versatile the machine offers a large selection of cuts to suit different processing needs. The Portio 4003 is especially well suited for small and medium sized businesses looking to enhance operations with a fully automatic portioning system.
Versatile
From slices and butterflies, to cubes and strips the Portio 4003 is versatile and easily performs a variation of cuts on raw, chilled or cooked product. Different portioning cuts are attained by simply changing mould sets, a task that takes but three minutes to perform. The operator simply selects an accessory tool for either processing steaks, butterflies, cubes or strips.
Functional
Meat products in their original shape are placed into the Portio 4003 and formed into a portioning mould of pre-defined shape and volume. This volumetric portioning method ensures maximal utilization of the raw material while delivering accurate weight and natural looking but uniformly shaped portions. The user-friendly Portio is ergonomically designed and requires only one operator for infeed.
Portioning process
Each cutting lane has a dual mould which ensures maximum throughput. While the machine is cutting the meat from the first mould the operator loads the second one. The result is an even and continuous flow of uniform natural shaped fixed weight portions.

Stacking process
To minimize handling the portions are stacked together into a fixed weight batch. The stacking can be adjusted to fit different tray sizes. In addition to stacking, the machine is also capable of separating trim pieces.

Infeed towers
Infeed towers are used to hold the Portio moulds in place. Three variations of infeed towers are available, 400, 500 and 600 mm/ 15.7", 19.6" and 23.6" for cutting meat primals of different lengths.
Outfeed conveyors
The Portio 4003 can be equipped with different outfeed conveyors for direct packing into trays or boxes. Three different outfeed conveyors are available: 800, 1100 and 1400 mm/31.5", 43.3" and 55" in length.
Single layering and stacking
A stacking option for the outfeed conveyor is available. This application minimizes handling and speeds up the packaging process resulting in improved appearance of packed product. Using this option can increase product shelf-life.
Easy to operate – easy to clean
Simple to operate and easy to access and clean, the Portio is designed with maximum hygiene in mind. The machine is water-resistant to IP65 standards and intended to withstand the rigors of the wash-down environment. Opening up the machine is simple and all parts are easily accessible for cleaning.
