Self-adjusting multihead weigher – with unparalleled feed efficiency

The latest development in multihead weighing is the very fast ScanCombinator 5418. This new machine has 18 heads, and is capable of very high speed due to the many possible combinations. The ScanCombinator 5418 is also ideal for customers that need to make split or mix portions. The machine can be divided for use with two or three products, which enables split portions of three different products. The machine can also be divided for use with two packing lines.

The heart of the packing line
The ScanCombinator 5418™ communicates and integrates with all well-known types of packing machines. It can be incorporated as the heart of a total packing line because it handles infeed, weighing and packing into almost any kind of tray, bag, can, box, etc.

Features

Infeed

The design of the Scanvaegt multihead weigher ensures that soft, wet and sticky products are

moved to the weighing unit as smoothly and rapidly as possible – and does away with feeder

system blockages.

This is achieved using Automatic Feeder Adjustment (AFA) technology, which means that

the vibrating feeders always operate at full capacity. The weighing unit therefore always receives a constant flow of products, exploiting your equipment to the full.

We are able to supply and integrate a wide range of standard and customised conveyors, vibrators, screw feeders and lifts – as well as specially engineered solutions to meet individual requirements.

Discharge units

A wide range of standard and customised discharge units is available for facilitating operations such as filling, orientation, positioning, multipacking, duopacking and thermoform packing.
 

Packaging

The ScanCombinator 5400™ series of multihead weighers can interface and adapt to most of the packing machines currently available for packing products into trays, bags, glasses, thermopacks, cans and boxes, etc. Can also handle split and mix portions.

Software

Automatic Feeder Adjustment (AFA) - Patent Pending

The key to weighing accuracy and high production capacity is an effective vibratory feed system.

To make sure these vibratory feeders operate at maximum efficiency, it is crucial that each feeder vibrates at its own specific resonance frequency at all times. This frequency changes over time, however, due to wear and tear in the feeder system as well as normal fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

The new AFA technology therefore automatically ensures that each individual feeder vibrates at its own unique resonance frequency.

Key features of AFA:

• Extremely fast self-adjustment – it takes less than 30 seconds to optimise the frequency of all 10, 14 or 18 vibratory feeders
• Easy to use - no need to give operators any special training – just push a button
• Driver frequency is far more accurate than when using mechanical adjustment
• Unaffected by any fluctuations in electrical voltage.
