Seattle Seafood ShowHow Proves Huge Success

New five-day format attracts leading industry players and record attendances to annual showcase event. Representatives from several of the seafood processing industry’s leading companies gathered at Marel Seattle last week, for the staging of the facility’s annual Seafood ShowHow, from November 14-18.
Previously staged over two days in conjunction with the Pacific Marine Expo, the event this year ran for a full five days. Highlights included personalized customer demonstrations of the equipment on display, each lasting two hours and all of which were all completely booked out.
Among the main attractions was the MS 2730 Filleting Machine, with up to 10 representatives from some companies gathering to see the machine, which is capable of handling up to 25 fish per minute, along with the SC125 Slicer, which also proved a show stopper.
The event ended with an Oktoberfest-themed evening, where polka music, beer and bratwurst served by Marel’s very own Oktoberfest ladies made for some great entertainment. The evening ended on a particularly high note for Arctic Storm’s Eric Guiao, who claimed top prize in the raffle, an iPad2
Such was the success of this year’s event in terms of both attendance and highly positive customer feedback, Marel Seattle is planning to retain the five-day format for next year’s Seafood ShowHow.
