CIMIE 2020 brings back together Marel and Chinese customers

CIMIE 2020 Review

CIMIE 2020, China International Meat Industry Exhibition, was held in Qingdao city from September 10 to 12. This was the first biggest tradeshow held since the Covid-19 outbreak in China for the poultry and meat industry. Marel's experts were happy to be able again to meet existing and new Chinese customers in the industry to exchange insights and explore new technologies.

During the three CIMIE days, Marel’s booth welcomed many visitors. It was a strictly national event, with stand crew as well as visitors originating from China only, as international travel was still restricted.
Senior managers from leading enterprises in the poultry industry such as Jiuxing, Yunken, CP, Wenshi, Hefeng, Chaohe and Huadu were all eager to visit our stand. Denver Lu, Marel's Regional Managing Director for China says, "We see that customers are keen on new solutions that can help them stay ahead of the curves of fast-moving industry transformations, and Marel is a trusted brand and preferred go-to place for advice and solutions. As Marel, we are proud of the measures we took in protecting our employees and business partners. Marel is also fully prepared to support our customers in their post-pandemic development and growth."

Share solutions

Marel's experts introduced the latest innovations and technology in primary, secondary and further processing to these customers and visitors, such as the ACM-NT cutting system, the AMF-i system, the Thigh Fillet System, the Nuova evisceration system, full production control with Innova Food Processing Software and water treatment solutions. The Prepared Food team also had a chance to meet a great variety of customers and shared the solutions in convenience food, such as RevoPortioner, coating system and oven and fryer solutions.

Maximize value

In the past years, the processing industry has developed rapidly in China, and the demand for automation is becoming stronger and stronger. The Covid-19 situation even accelerates this trend. On the other hand, the industry competition is intensifying, and cost pressure is increasing year by year. How to maximize the value in poultry production is a topic that enterprises continue to pay attention to, and it’s the driving force for industry innovation. In addition, the enterprises have stronger needs for solutions for local products, such as native birds, duck, duck feet etc.

CIMIE demonstrated that customers keep turning to Marel to seek support and solutions. Dynamic market needs are always a driving force of innovation. Marel will continue to work with our customers, focus more on their demands, and invest more in providing innovative and competitive solutions to local customers in China. Denver Lu expects a strong comeback of the Chinese market after the pandemic is put under control, which is shown by this CIMIE event.
